William Cheung/Emin Boztepe

Emin Boztepe is an unbelievable Martial Artists to be honest, but I won't lie, Cheung may be cocky, but he is very good as well. A fight between them could've gone either way I believe. The only thing that surprised me is that Emin didn't seem the type to do that.

Speaking of Emin, I'd put all my money on him in an Emin v. Royce Gracie fight. As much as I like Royce and think he's a good guy, Emin would wipe the floor with him, I mean Royce couldn't even handle Kazushi Sakuraba, never mind any of his brothers.

Emin has a spotty fight record. Royce's record is quite visible and has had no problems taking down good strikers during all of the years of his challenge matches + UFC. He's beaten different styles of gong-fu. Wing-Tsun anti-grappling is unproven in MMA.

Sakuraba is a quick and intelligent fighter. Remember, Sakuraba beat Vitor Belfort.

Wing Chun anti-grappling

I think Wing Chun anti-grapppling is very effective. At jiu-jitsu or judo schools around me, they don't allow their students to spar with any of us, so their is an apparent advantage. I sparred with my friend who's a student of the Gracie Jiu-jitsu and I defeated him fairly easy by countering his grapples and pulling off a number of chain punches. Although I won the "match", I could tell that some of the stuff he was trying to would have been extremely affective, so had he been able to wrap me up, I'm not entirely sure if i could have gotten out, but then again the point of Wing Chun is to not get wrapped up. I never really liked grappling because it seems that punching and especially kicking is much more effective. As soon as the grappler dives in to grab, a kick in the face can surely take him out of commision.

We have all seen time and time again what happens when a striker tries to stop getting taken down. HE GETS TAKEN DOWN!

WC Anti Grappling only works against WC students who don't KNOW how to take someone down, and don't want to disprove their art by doing so anyway.

and no eyes and no adam's apple can stand/accept when you hit brutally with the Biu Jee.......

and even thou how tough/big/strong opponent - his eyes and adams apple is very very weak.........

attacking your non-kungfu opponent with Biu Jee successfully to the eyes 5 times, since a human being has only 2 eyes - then he has a debit/credit you 3 eyes left......... HAW HAW HAW HAW

I can't believe Leung Ting would arrange such a thing for Emin to do something like that, i just cant get my head around it. It's shocking but im glad GM Cheung won and carried on with the seminar, even if i do train WT im still really shocked that something so sinister could have been thought up by the organisation i train under, but there is a reason for everything i guess and two sides to every story, we have to draw up our own conclusions in these kind of situations *please dont all start yelling at me for that comment*
but thankfully i train in the uk with a Sifu who i think is very level headed and cares only for martial arts not about who's the best and so on and so forth, you can only train for yourself at the end of the day and no-ones body is the same so everyone's fighting skills even with the same stlye of martial art will be different because of range of movement etc.
So in a way maybe the fight was suppossed to happen, fated to happen but at the end of the day a bruised ego is better then a broken body but some men just don't seem to grasp this concept and ill never understand why because i am a woman and dont have the natural impulse to fight like men do

Wing Tsun anti-grappling?... Are you shiettin' me? Hehehe... The only anti-grappling that works is the ability to grapple once you hit the ground. For crying out loud, there are grapplers who spend hours learning to sprawl, bull post or block shots, only to be taken down in a grappling match... How then, are we suppose to believe that a WC person who learns a few tricks can defend against takedowns?... It's ridiculous.

This guy Wing Tsun is an obvious joke... And speaking of Emin, I wouldn't put too much faith in his NHB abilities... Spanking William Cheung is hardly a testament of skill. The whole thing looked more like a desparate scramble on both parts. I can see Royce tying Emin into knots, in the time it took him to make Cheung his biatch.

I am new to this site and already I see things in the fourms that I hate. One thing is the big fool thai bri. I am a student of wing chun and I am only 18. William cheung is the head of the wing chun association that I am apart of. Thai Bri you talk about william cheung like this, I'll tell you what why don't you accept alittle battle from me. I travel alot all you have to do is pick a time and a place and I will show you what wing chun is about and make you learn to respect william cheung.

Hey Iron Dragon i must apologise for my would be gradfather Thai Bri i am also 18 years old and sometimes find it ahrd to believe the points of adults but remember we would have only been about 10 yrs old when this emin and william incident took place, i also study wing tsun kung fu and as Emin was a part of WT i know that how the incident was told on how it took place sounds horrible but i wasnt there so i accept williamk cheungs explanation.

Don't get so hot headed and think god someones insulted william cheung im gonna beat there brains out, yes i know you feel you must defend your Wing Chun and the lineage by proving a point but dosen't that go against all the teachings of WT and WC you first always NEVER start a fight you try and walk away and the first rule of self defence is to run away so dont be so quick to jump in the line of fire in the name of saving face.
Boxers and Wing Chun people will never reach agreeable terms that kung fu is effective because boxers are bloody tough fighters but yeah if your a great WC student maybe you have a better chance of beating a boxer.

Please dont take everything Thai Bri says to heart it just does it to cause a ruccus and you fell for it hook line and sinker oh well maybe next time when he tries to stir things up you will be man enough to take it on the chin dont feel too bad your a newbie and wasn't to know.
