I agree with this post 100%.

That's what I've been saying from the beginning, but Sag was determined to turn it into a s&!t flinging contest. . . . . . .

It doesn't matter. We're not trying to get a one hit kill now are we? It seems that when I was explaining the differences in punching I made this mess, so my bad.

I pretty sure unless you are an 8 year old girl a solid punch and or chop to the larynx as hard as you can is going to kill a person.

If you don't believe me let someone who practices a legit MA like Karate chop you in the throat straight on not the side, as hard as they can. If you don't post we know it worked.

Well, there's that. But to get a one hit kill would require perfect accuracy, timing and enough power to get the job done. Something that wouldn't really happen when the adrenaline gets pumping.

My understanding is that when the adrenal gets going mom's lift cars off their babies, not get weaker.

When you get scared and piss yourself that's when the weakness comes into play.

Agreed. I'm sure there are people who can, if you hold still for them so they can do it like they're breaking boards or bricks or coconuts or something along those lines. Getting hit in the neck- especially the throat sucks. If you hit hard enough and you can land a good shot there you might end the fight. If you do drop someone that way you're almost certainly going to have to keep hitting them if you want to kill them though- which wouldn't be self-defense.

Adrenaline causes strength increase but fine motor skills go out the window.

That's actually part of the human body's self defense. I was watching this show, I think it was called the Extremes of Human Performance, or something. Basically they stated that normally, only 10% of our muscle fires when we exert ourselves, even as hard as we can, because this is a form of restraint our body puts on ourselves so that it doesn't hurt itself. In critical times, like when a boulder rolls on top of you while rockclimbing or a car is on your baby, your body can fire 100% of those muscles and the average person will perform feats even the greatest strong man can't do. However, your body can only maybe do this once in its lifetime, after firing 100% a lot of the muscles become damaged.

Fascinating, isn't it? The human body is such a wondrous thing!
