              • Just an interesting thought, but when the Chinese fought the Thai boxers:

                One of the two Kung Fu people to beat their thai opponents was named Tan Guancheng, and he was a WuZuQuan (Ngo Cho Kun) practitioner.

                  if one analyse it very carefully, MT and wuzuquan has great similarity, both emphasie on explosive penatrating simple attacks, both use knees and elbows, both like to fight up close the only difference that I can see is the kicking. MT like to use the round house, wuzuquan more of front and side kicks.

                  But it is the explosiveness and the iron body training-conditioning that really stands out on both wuzuquan and MT.

                    Kung fu san shou should try to maintain their identity as a kung fu contact sparring by wearing kung fu unifomrs, not shorts that resemble thai boxers.

                    That is why many critics keep saying that san shou is an imitation of mauy thai-"chinese style".

                    Also, it would make it easier to indentify san shou as kung fu if fighters are wearing kung fu pants not mauy thai shorts.

                    Just like this kung fu man, wearing kung fu trousers, indentifying him as a kung fu man. And of wuzuquan background (Tan Guancheng).

                    • There are four main principles of ngo cho kun;

                      1. pu (float) to unbalance the opponent in defense and attack, to be mobile.;

                      2. tim (sink) to keep foot firmly planted on the ground, to take the opponent to the ground;

                      3. tun (swallow) to absorb the attack and stay focus;

                      4. toh (spit out) to explode in attack, explosive strikes that are glued to the target.

                      Ngo cho kun also includes the manipulation and striking of pressure points, the making or use of liniments, massage therapy and other treatments and external injuries for developing energy and maintaining health.

                      The principle of ngo cho kun is “if you injure somebody, you must be able to heal them”. The application of kung-fu wine medication is very important to strengthen the bones, protect the muscle nerves and tendons, counteract internal and circulation of inner strength.

                      Weapons in ngo cho kun is as an important part of training, and are relevant in modern self defense and physical fitness because it help develop coordination, speed of hands, understanding of wider ranges of body movements, and vital attributes such as distancing, timing and peripheral vision. Also it strengthen and help tone the different muscle groups such as the wrist, forearm, shoulders, hips, legs etc.

                      Ngo cho weapons include long and short, single hand and two handed weapons. Weapons are made of steel and techniques are practical and true to combat situation.
