I saw a freshman match when I was in HS and this dude got a hard on during the match. I was a senior at the time and the freshman, I talked to him after the match (I was like a mentor I guess) and gave him credit he kept his cool and pinned the guy quick...I don't know if I could have thankfully I will never have to find out
BJJ - I know you study BJJ do you see a difference in the conditioning? You have to wrestle to be in wrestling shape, those workouts will definately pay off later in the season. 1-2 minutes periods may not seem long...but this nonstop high out put movement.
. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, without the endurance, all your opponent has to do is wear you out through 30 seconds of hard wrestling, and he'll win while you're struggling for air. Two things that always helped me, were very simple. Does your coach tell you to quickly tap the on the forehead / between the eyes before you shoot? If he does, get quick at that. If he doesn't, make sure your coach is cool with it. You'd be surprised at how much deeper your shot will be when he blinks. Also, get good at sprawling, b/c it's a lot easier to wrestle when you're on top
, I'm sure you've already figured that out though. Last but not least, no matter what coach tells you, never sink down to "checking the oil" of your opponent. He, he. I can't believe there are sodomizers out there who actually do that crap.
