Alright. Thanks. I have one more thing i think. For the takedowns, am i supposed to changelevel then dive, or am i supposed to dive and change level at the same time?

Not many pins available in wrestling from the mount. I don't think wrestlers use the mount at all.

Alright I got another question for you guys out there, is it more beneficial(wrestling wise)to be in the mount or side control?
A. Not likely to get such position often
B. Not likely to secure a pin from that position
Better to work for the cross-chest position

I was thinking about getting into a mount and then establishing a shoulder hold.

BJJ Seifer2399 is correct if you are in a mount you would have the person in a pin position. But I think the issue may be again you have to let go of some BJJ training. Side control is needed to work a lot of techniques and establish control on the mat.
If you had someone in a mount they bridge out of it so you should grapevine the legs.

Wouldn't a [full] mount already imply that you're on top of the opponent's chest with both his shoulders down - a pin = victory?
Apologies ahead of time if I misunderstood the question.
Best regards,
Seifer2399

We wrestled yesterday!Sort of...The coach taught us some moves and we got to watch the more experienced kids go at it.
Just thought i'd let you know, we had to wait 45 minutes for the coach to get here so we were just wondering around aimlessly for awhile. During that time this kid comes up to meand challenges me to a quick wrestle match. Before I could reply he tried for a take down. I naturally put my forearms on his shoulders and did a neck clinch...........i pulled then preceded to pull him up and did a hip toss. He fell down on the tile and it just sort of ended there. Yes i know what i did was wrong but It was just reflex. I'll keep you posted on this wrestling thing.

You can't lock hands on the ground.
You don't want to go to the guard.
You can't choke.
Wrestling will improve your ground control and positioning. It will improve you takedowns. Don't blow it off.
Once you adjust to not having a gi, I think you'll be fine.
