Well Oprah just sent me an application for DickMan to join her book club and this month's selection is by Rodney King, it deals with trying to build cultural bridges through the use of recreational herbs.

Can't we all just hit the bong? Peace through Pot smoking
By R King is sure to be a best seller.

Oh yeah DarrianNation and TomYum Dr.Phil called and told me to tell both of you to focus your efforts on being strong and proud lesbians.

DickMan you need to understand that everyone is prejudice in some way and that includes you and me. But what good does it do to focus on other peoples faults? Especially when we all engage in it on some level.

At a time when most Americans refered to them as "Japs" the Nisei were fighting against fascism on all fronts as are the people who are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for believing that America is trying to help them. Basically what I am trying to say is focus more on your own faults and you will be a better person and a proud strong lesbian.

this is already happening, despite the fact that radical islam is present. dubai is on of the biggest tourist attractions in the middle east. so is the paradise like island of kish that belongs to iran. there are many places in the middle east that are peaceful and dont harbor hatred towards americans. i myself have been to iran and the island of kish, and i saw many other americans and European tourists while i was there. not only that, but never once i was i hassled or discriminated against while i was visiting there.

you seem to imply that americans and middle easterners are so far apart, but i dont believe we are. i believe that media likes to portray a negative image of the middle east. if you turn on the news you will see tons of crazy footage from iraq and afghanistan , and generally the most turbulent and backwards places. they never show the billion dollar resorts and malls in dubai. they dont show the man made island resorts created by arab billionaires over there. you never see how beautiful and peaceful the island of kish is. they dont show you how modern tehran iran is, they just show the most ignorant people they can find.

how come you never see these images of the middle east....

they do stand up to it bro, again you just dont hear about it. proof of this is the afghan northern alliance that is still fighting alongside our own troops in trying to rid their country of the taliban. what about all the iraqi soldiers and police that are also working with american and coalition troops?

Can't we all just get along?

I was looking for a quote about the use of drugs... Something about they are not bad, they are just chemicals...The stupid shit people do while under the influence is what is bad...

                            All I could find was this;

"For men of understanding do not say that the sword is to blame for murder, nor wine for drunkenness, nor strength for outrage, nor courage for foolhardiness, but they lay the blame on those who make an improper use of the gifts which have been bestowed upon them by God, and punish them accordingly."
St. John Chrysostom (circa 341-410 A.D.), from "Treatise on the Priesthood,"
via B.T. Carlin, M.D. and Jeff Cooper...

mr arieson, heres another example of the middle east that you dont see in the media. ever hear about the battle of herat? you cant really say that people in the middle east dont stand up to bad people because they do, more so than you think.

after 9/11, usa special forces teamed up with iranian special forces and afghan notherthern alliance fighters in a coalition targeting the taliban. all you hear about iran is how evil they are on the news, but do you ever hear about when they helped us or when our nation cooperated with them?

"The Battle of Herat was a coordinated insurrection and uprising in the Afghan city of Herat as part of the United States war in Afghanistan. The city was liberated on November 12, 2001 by Northern Alliance forces as well as Special Forces of both the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

                                The Combatants

The U.S. Special Forces teams consisted of U.S. Army Rangers and Delta force under the command of CENTCOM General Tommy Franks. Iranian forces consisted of agents of the Qods Force under the command of Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, commander of the Pasdaran. The Northern Alliance faction consisted of over 5,000 militiamen under the command of Ismail Khan, a commander in the previous Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan and former governor of Herat before the Taliban came into power in 1995.

                                The Plan

The plan, organized by General Franks and General Safavi, was for Iranian Special Forces to discreetly enter the city and form an insurrection against the Taliban. This sudden event was to coincide with the entrance of Ismail Khan’s band of Northern Alliance militia members into the city. Meanwhile, a team of U.S. Special Forces and CIA agents would oversee the operation in Tehran alongside Iranian military intelligence.

                                The Operation

As planned, Iranian commandos secretly entered Herat to begin the insurrection. The Northern Alliance, Shi’ite ethnic factions, and a small group of U.S. Special Forces entered the city under the guidance of Ismail Khan. The Iranians launched the insurrection, which successfully gave way to, what Ismail Khan claimed to be, the local uprising against the Taliban leaders. The city was liberated that afternoon of November 12 without a fight. Iranian media even went as far as to report of widespread celebration including ‘dancing on the rooftops."
