Islam did not spread through the sword like you are saying. It spread through trade. Muslims after prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) left Arabia and spread Islam all over the earth for this was my prophet's wish.

The non-Muslims use to say we want to be like you and become Muslims. See and that time people use to not marry outside their tribes forget about race but Islam teaches that we are all the children of Adam first before anything else.

Muslims have had wars but it was all in self-defense. For example in India the king took Muslims traders as hostage and in this situation in Islam it is lawful to declare Jihad. Indonesia and Malaysia became Muslim without one drop of blood like how Palestine was first taken in the time of Omar (P.B.U.H).

Muslims of the present cannot be compared to the past for in the past they were more religious and good and now have gone away from their religion. When I talk about Muslims they are the ones in the past that spread my religion.

This is basically what I was saying. I hope this was directed towards Mike Brewer because I said much of what you've written.

Some people can't accept the fact that their history is a lot more violent and disturbing than the "enemies" history. It's too hard to swallow.

I have yet to find the Muslim version of "The Inquisition" or the "Salem witch trials."

Right, and the guys in Palestine who forced the western journalists recently to convert upon pain of death do not reflect upon you.

The Muslim paramilitary gangs doing all that killing in Darfur do not reflect upon you.

The government of Iran that enforces a law that says any Muslim who tries to convert to another faith must be put to death does not reflect upon you.

Every major religion has seen some major bloodshed.

Zionism is the reason why all the things you just wrote about happened. Do some research, learn a thing or two, and then open your eyes and see that while the European and Russian Jews occupy that land there will never be peace unfortunately.

Its amazing that people here at Depends.net LOVE and admire the movie 300, the legendary battle at Thermopylae but call patriots who only wish to have their land back vicious and evil men.

No one cares about Palestinian casualties, because our news says that they are the enemy. No one cares about Israeli attrocities that are committed, because our news tells us that they are our allies.

No one denies that every religion has had bloodshed, but the history of the Christianity is defined Christian deeds and it is a violent, vicious and bloody history at that .... from beheading nonbelievers in the Inquisition to drowning innocent women and children in the Witch Trials to giving food and blankets infected with small pox to Indians in the name of Jesus to burning crosses and hanging African Americans to flooding China with opium to cooking Jews in ovens to molesting young alter boys.

Other religions are not innocent, but none in this world are viewed as wicked as those who bear the cross.

                ..
I thought 300 was a good movie. Love it? Nope.

If you spell out alot of the bloodshed and attrocities of other religions with graphic details, you'll see that your next set of lines are all relative...

That's an opinion. Your opinion. It doesn't make it a fact.

im not anti jewish or anti simetic or anything like that, but it is a fact of history that israels independence in 1948 was gained in part through terrorism, and it is the very reason they suffer from terrorism to this day. live by the gun, die by the gun.

Wow, a two-fer. Your words certainly suggest that in addition to being a racist you are both anti-Christian and anti-semetic, two things quite en vogue these days among the liberal side of a self-loathing western society.

No it was secular, until recently Turkey's secularism was closely guarded by the military, a more secular(which is not the same as Atheist) could not eassely be found

Why can't you just say that people who kill other people in the name of God are shitheads. People who choose to live an upright, good, and moral life aren't.
Could we add to that "And who do not try to control other peoples life?"
The one thing I have against religion is people who seem to think it isn't enough that they follow their set of rules, instead they think they need to make the whole world follow them

In that context Islamist but also certain evangelical/Pentacostal Neocons scare me the most
The first because they do not shun away from violence the latter because they will try to achieve it with political means, in dubious ways
But both because they think the world should be a theocracy

In fact the evangelical/Pentacostal Neocons scare me more because they believe "The Rapture" will happen in their lifetime and they seem all to willing to create Armagedon themselfes

Hey, while we're on the subject of Perisan Armies:

Can you please address for me the points jubaji made about Iran?
Remind me. It's the ------- Republic of Iran, right?
Sure. I and no one else on this topic has ever said that there is religion that hasn't its share of bloodshed. Let me show you the difference between Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Concerning what is happening in Iran at this very moment, there are Islamic leaders who speak out and denounce what Iran is doing. As far as Al Qaeda, there are Islamic leaders that tour the world that denounce Al Qaeda and they deeds and work to educate the rest of the world in knowing that these renegade individuals do not represent Islam and have misconstrued its teachings to server their own causes.

Concerning Zionism: There are Jews that denounce Zionism and travel the world spreading their message that all Jews do not condone or support Zionism, and they admit that it is the source of the conflict in the Middle East. They put time and effort to show that not every Jew supports the Manifest Destiny that is Zionism.

Concerning Christianity: Various Popes, Christianity's so-called emissaries of God on Earth, have not spoken out against the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Middle Passage, the Manifest Destiny or the Holocaust. They gave silent consent. It was Christians that did the dirty work and the Church gave silent blessings and in some cases gave its outspoken blessing to the atrocities that Christians have done IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

Hope that clears that up for you.

Again, no one said that they didn't have bloodshed, Mike Brewer. What was said was that they did not wage wars and force-feed Islam at the end of a barrel. You tried to imply that by sneaking in the "they bred with them to make them Muslim", which is untrue. If they did not raise those children, then those children wouldn't have had to learn Islam as other religions were tolerated.

                              Bloodshed? Yes.
                              Indoctrination? No.

What about the points I made about people being judged by their own deeds rather than that of their religious forebears? Don't you think that the more important defining factors in measuring a man (or woman) today are how they choose, individually, to live their lives? Why do you keep insisting on lumping all human being together with the worst of their races, creed, or religions? You know what that's called in any other arena? It's racism, or at the very least bigotry.
I'm not speaking about individual men. I'm speaking about a religion and its followers that largely participated in the execution of said atrocities. Like handing out the pox infected blankets and food in the name of Christ to unsuspecting Indians. Or like molesting young alter boys in today's world. I don't think that being a Christian makes a man evil anymore than I think Buddhism makes you evil. That doesn't change the fact that the history of Christianity defines it through deeds, not ideology.

I'm really glad it doesn't occur to me to judge everyone I meet by the criteria of whether or not they are of the same faith as the Spanish Inquisitors. Your life must be really weird...
First of all, I don't duck, dodge or parry, Sifu!

Next, Pol Pot is the winner! Hitler did what he did as a patriot. He did what he did to strengthen his country and countrymen. He issued a warning that if the Jews occupying Germany at that time threw Germany into a depression that he would persecute them and told them to leave while they could. The Jews at that time felt as though they had too much money invested to leave Germany and their monopoly.

Pol Pot was a cruel and greedy tyrant who didn't even care for his own people. His intentions weren't noble in the slightest. His own people wanted to kill him from the beginning of his reign.
