I'm not sure "Improvement upon" is a productive way to view comparative theology.

Then on top of that blurred the law of monotheism and brought the pagan practice of duality into the religion. It had been done before in many cases like Nimrod/Tammuz and Amen/Ra to name a few. The Holy Ghost was added later.
From the beginnings of Christianity they have gone out of their way to incorporate relics and practices of paganism of religions that have been deemed rooted in Satan worship and primitive. They've killed millions for practicing non-Christians rituals and acts when the Vatican itself is littered with pagan statues, paintings and adornments.
These are the very things that Moses tried to get rid of. Crafty Jewish politicians and scholars later came up with interesting ways to bring much of it back.

Monarchy rules religion.

My wife just pointed out to me that there is also a plethora of Saints that are worshiped. Not to mention at one time you could pay for a pardon of certain sins before you even committed them. WTF?

You and jubaji might share something in common; those cute slurs you used to describe him could very well induce the old foot in mouth disease, bro.

On another note, in 1939 during WW2 - the broken, battered, war torn, 3rd world nation of China opened its arms to about 20,000 Jews seeking refuge from Hitler Occupied Europe and fleeing Russian jews. They lived along side the Chinese working with and for one another until the early 1950's when Hitler's regime was said and done. They made it back home safely.
In 2007, the Israeli consulate general in Shanghai donated 660,000 yuan in recognition of the safe harbor provided by the ghetto and its local inhabitants.
Looking at the math, they paid grattitude of 33 yuan per life (about $5).
Meanwhile, American's paid for Jewish safety with their own lives during a time when Christian principles lead a united nation in support of a war.Last edited by Tom Yum; 09-02-2007, 12:20 AM.

People love to cry "mind control!" whenever any religion represents a form of authority and structure, but most major world religions are a form of 'community' that will necessarily have structure and impose in one way or another social and organizational pressure to conform to certain standards of behavior. That's a big part of the point of organized religion, and its not necessarily a bad thing at all. Weak individuals fear the loss of themselves in the face of community, which is another complicated issue in itself.

Thought process begin turning.

Has more money than God, is a little suspect in my mind.
The second part of the post is very thought provoking. I have to point out though that Taoism and Buddhism are organized religions and they teach the individual is only part of a greater whole, they seem to move along in the world a little less violently than western religions.
And how can a religion say it is trying to for a sense of community but at the same time say if you don't follow these exact edicts you will go to hell. Community is supposed to be diverse but if everyone thinks and acts the same then you just have a bunch of automatons don't you?
Also a lot of Christian religions especially souther baptist tend to preach about the things you will "get" in heaven. Flip through one of their hymnals it's appalling to see the contradictions between the hyms sang and the things Jesus preaches. It's almost like two separate religions.
You bring up some very valid and intelligent points that should give us all a lot to consider and ponder, it's definitely as side of things I can say I hadn't quit considered in dept

Buddhism and Taoism have seen their fair share of violence.
