Maybe Iron Mike could sneak in a head butt or two lol. put his head down and charge . What i'm really anxious to see is the sumo wrestler vs bob sapp in K1
I trained in TKD for most of my life but now train in BJJ. TKD is effective only if taught by the right teacher and not taught in a mkdojo. TKD has been used as an effective fighting style for centuries in Korea, but in the US it's just not the same effective style. I quit because i realized even after getting my black belt that it was not an effective art in a real life situation. After only 1 day at BJJ class i was shown the weaknesses of the TKD techniques (that damn bouncing). I think mui tai would be a more effective style.

MT hands down. The training is more hard core, knees, elbows, bone conditioning, no bouncing, no point punches / kicks. No contest. (assuming they are fighters of equal athletic ability--make you fighter v fighter ppl happy?)
I can't wait to see Tyson v Sapp & Sapp v Sumo.
I want Tyson to win cuz he's 1/5 Sapp's Size.
Sapp v Sumo will be cool either way, those are two HUGE ASS ppl, and it'll be a fun match. It would be way cooler in person.
All that video clip proves is that, that one particular TKD guy stinks.
I have seen many "TKDists" who do not set up their moves by back-pedaling all the way across the floor like that guy.
I have seen close-range TKD round kicks that hit their target full-force with the heel of the foot instead of the shinbone.
I have seen TKD'ists use the straight blast (no, there's no JKD copyright on it).
I have seen a lot of TKD kicks that resulted in broken ribs, concussions, lacerations, etc. to the unfortunate recipients.
I have had the displeasure of seeing the results of a ridge hand strike to the mastoid, (hospitalization), and a knife hand strike to the nose (death).
So stop with the cliches already!

So, no one is going to fight your fight for you. Muaythai is not winning or being better than the other guy. It is learning to lose before winning and to give from your heart before receiving. In muaythai, you always win and lose. So, don't worry. (Smile)..."
I think what it boils down to is the training, Damien is a TKD man but he beat a Thai fighter in Thailand (correct me if I am wrong) If you train your body to take hits and to fight then obvioulsy you will be able to fight better than if you are not training to fight, point sparring and wearing pads while hitting heavy bags or pads wont condition you, you need to condition the body to fight in order to fight. All we see inthis clip is a TKD artist who clearly isnt conditioned, the guy couldnt keep on his feet and you could nearlly hear him say "ouch! that leg kick hurts!", now take TKD artist there and train him up like a Thai Boxer and of course he will do better even if he doesnt use Muay Thai, I know TKD from a team mate who practiced it, the kicks aint as powerful as a thai kick and that aint a biased remark, flashy sure but flash doesnt do much against power.....
....Koreans are different, its their art and they are obviously shit hot at it.

mate no joking but I think it takes more than a hand strike to kill someone, obviously on punch can kill but the technqiue you are talking off would be quite tricky to do perfectly..... mate if it was as easy as you say I would be dead long ago, I think along with many others, I have had the nose bust 3 times and punched hard and upwards (uppercut) on the nose. but I am still alive and talking today, the palm strike upwards, have you seen it done, did you really see a guy die because of this? I have never heard of anyone die with this.... broken sternum and internal bleeding caused by kidney injuries and heamorrhage in the brain but never a Knife hand strike to the nose, I aint knocking the technique just questioning its effectiveness.
I just wanted to comment on the video clip. That TKD guy really sucks. He had his guard down the entire time and that is not what they teach you to do. Please don't think this guy is a representative TKD fighter, he just sucked.

OK, no bull, not making it up. TKD student at my school about two or three years ahead of me in training. Young, testosrone driven, not very mature or experienced. Did not know him personally, just what you might call a nodding acquaintance.
One day he makes the news. He's talking to a girl at one of the local night spots when her large, jealous, belligerent boyfriend shows up and starts getting rough (with her and him). One thing leads to another and next thing you know the boyfriend is on the floor out cold from a knife hand strike to the nose which just happened to be part of the self-defense taught at our school.
The guy was dead by the time the bouncers picked him up off the floor. Our instructor was deposed and required to testify in court and the student was doing time, last I heard about him.
Does it always work out like that? Probably not. Did I see it happen? No, I guess not. I was close enough though, to know it's not just unfounded rumors or some urban legend. Close enough to be personally affected by it.
Anybody practicing any style can beat anybody practicing any style. So the discussion goes back to "Depends on the individual and the circumstances."

Agreed No MA could possibly be that bad. It was a very amusing video though! I enjoyed it!
